Its summertime! The kick-off to a lengthy stretch of refreshing blue skies and sun-drenched days that we Canadians yearn for all year, a time for dipping our toes into the lake and fishing off the dock, setting up the tent and munching on s’mores around the campfire, sipping on lemonade, hitting the open road with the windows down, and trekking to amusement parks with the kids. Its all part of our favorite season!
This week’s colour inspiration comes from Altona, Manitoba, a small Mennonite community in the bountiful Red River Valley. Each year, during the fourth week in July, the fields are drenched in golden brilliance, as row after row of enormous flowers tilt their heads towards the sun, all part of the annual Manitoba Sunflower Festival drawing visitors from across the country.
